Ibm  DataPower XML Security Gateway  can add a number of the benefits to a WebSphere Message The DataPower protects the SOAP messages sent to & by the Message Broker via WS-Security encryption of an  SOAP body. You can also use the WebSphere DataPower of a  Integration Appliance. which has the same functional capabilities of plus additional integration features.The requesting application can  communicates to an IBM DataPower XML Security Gateway  using SOAP over  the HTTP, within  the message body encrypted to the WS-Security standard.

The DataPower appliance decrypts an body of a message it receives, &  this content is then passed to the WebSphere Message Broker (hereafter called Message Broker) over the  connection secured by the HTTPS. Message Broker receives the SOAP message & the transforms it into an  COBOL structure for the final WebSphere MQ application.

The responses then flow back in the  similar fashion. The initial configuration uses simple HTTP between an  DataPower appliance & a  Message Broker. The modifications to use HTTPS are performed as an second stage of a  configuration.The components described here can be placed within the SOA design pattern in which the DataPower appliance provisions with the  WS-Security within the demilitarized zone that protect the  enterprise.
